A complete newb might just decide after a few weeks "no, I don't like what we are doing here" or "such a dumb game" and disappear. |

I actually couldn't stomach doing that kind of thing, I believe.
I'd shoot some capsuleer's ship in the face anytime for fun or profit, at least I plan to do that more, but to make someone trust me with the goal to betray that trust, that's just not my thing.
Not really blaming those who do that kinda stuff, though, it's a fair thing to do in this game after all.
Only if they honestly enjoy when someone feels, IRL, hurt over this, I'll rather keep my distance to them. But that's another matter.
Edit: I like the "moron tax" though! |

I wouldn't enjoy that either, and I'd be suspicious of people who do, too.
I just think it gets "personal" more easily when there's trust, pretending and betrayal involved. And I don't like to do that myself.

I really didn't want to start a big discussion about "hurts" over losing a ship.
I'm also of the opinion that, while one might feel the loss, one should also accept it as part of the game and continue to have fun. The risk of such a loss is, after all, among the things that make the game so much fun, as far as I can tell.
It's just that, from reading the forums, I got the impression there are some people who really get all kinds of hurt over these things.
And I know that, if I should ever destroy a ship of such a person, I would not enjoy their grief.
I wouldn't blame myself either, mind you. Nothing wrong in shooting their ship.
And I agree with what was said above: When someone betrays you, it's not about what ingame assets you've lost, it's about trust being betrayed. And that's something I wouldn't want to do to someone else. |

I'm afraid that's not possible. A long long time ago my ancestors were called "people from the twin peaks" as they lived on a planet near two mountains which stood out amongst an otherwise comparatively flat landscape.
This somehow became a family name.

I actually don't like comms much. I feel uncomfortable most of the time when on comms.
I'm usually fine with it when it serves a purpose, like when being on a roam (maybe because then I'm not expected to talk much, haha). But just for hanging out, not so much.
Since I am in this corp I'm still on comms most of the time since it seems prudent when flying around 0.0 near corpmates, and they're really great people so I feel less awkward and uncomfortable than usually. |

*sighs* this is going to be a long day today.
Half of my colleagues are sick at home, and it's me who has to handle all the customer-related stuff they were involved with.
Granted it's mostly analyzing of issues with our software and writing emails, but it's still like my workload suddenly tripled, even after giving up on doing any of my normal day-to-day work.
And of course you don't want to let customers wait. |

No. It's just that of the three people in my team who can do what we do, I am the only one not being sick. And there are certain time constraints to be met.

I don't mind handing out likes as I read along and post here, either.

My weekend was fine.
I was flying in a Griffin, for the first time doing e-war, with an Algos fleet of my alliance, through a wormhole into far-away Nullsec areas.
We killed some people/ships, didn't really get a real fight though.. which might have been good, as we are many new people (edit: well, truly new maybe a third of the gang? so we did have a good amount of experienced players) and I was pretty busy learning and training and getting used to how to properly move with a gang. I suspect the other newbies were in a similar state.
I do hope to get into real battles eventually, though.
